“No wardrobe is complete without the perfect trench. It’s the epitome of timeless chic – a blend of practical and polished that you can wear almost everywhere.”
This gold bonded leather trench debuted on the Fall 1991 runway, worn by British model Gail Elliott.
Of his inspiration, Michael explains, “I always love the idea of something tailored, taken in a different direction and looked at through a very glamorous lens.” First designed as a functional raincoat for the military, the trench coat has since become a staple of American sportswear. Crafting the quintessential silhouette in luxurious metallic leather elevates it to a statement piece that can be worn day or night. The perfect way to wear it? With a pair of jeans and a turtleneck sweater, according to famed New York photographer Andrea Blanch, who shot the coat when it was first introduced. Michael says, “Glamour for day, relaxed at night—very Michael Kors.”
