“This dress proves that sexy does not have to mean skintight.”
This black wrap-front gown debuted on the Spring 1992 runway, worn by Danish supermodel Helena Christensen. Crafted from fine Chantilly lace and cut in a slip silhouette, it exudes the sensual attitude of lingerie, while embroidered paillettes elevate it for evening occasions. When it originally debuted, iconic photographer Steven Meisel shot the gown for a memorable print ad campaign featuring model Shana Zadrick sprawled in a lavish dining room of the Presidential Suite at New York City’s famed Plaza Hotel. For the 40th Anniversary Collection, the gown was paired with a tailored tuxedo jacket for an unexpected juxtaposition.
